Recently, I read the book “How I Brave Any Aunty & Co-founded A Million Dollar Company” by Varun Agarwal. It is an inspiring and entertaining read. The startup in this book is of hoodies & t-shirts. Everyone does not have the privilege to read books. So, I am going to share some of the learnings I got from the book. The book is based on entrepreneurship. Back then in the year 2012 , when it is an offbeat career field. Nowadays, at some point of our life we think to be an entrepreneur. As I do most of the times. Apart from that there were many instances, ups & downs described in book. It is based on the place Bangalore – The Startup City of India. The thing I liked the most is that the author described some of the main points in a very simple and subtle way to understand easily. Many places were described like – Cirrus, Forum Mall, and Koshy’s. The book is about how middle-class boys build A Million Dollar Company.

Let’s begin with the journey, sharing the best experiences and lines from the book:
- I am not an entrepreneur nor a businesswoman. Starting a business or startup would not be everyone’s cup to tea. But what to remember while starting a business is the IDEA. Yesterday, I heard this thought in podcast that “The idea is always small, it becomes big by the journey it has”. A perfect line for anyone who wants to start something of their own. As I build website of my own.
- Screw it, let’s do it: Many obstacles going to come on your way. The only way to go across it by letting it aside and keep going with your beliefs.
- Carpe Diem: A very popular quote means “Seize the day”. The word used in the book to be down to earth while accomplishing goals.
- Starting something of your own is not going to be easy if it is offbeat basically. You have to hear taunting from your family, friends, relatives, etc. But always remember to have patience, keep believing in your idea and thoughts.
- Never ever tell you parents. Trust me at first because in most of the cases they are not going to understand you before you gave them some proof or evidences of your work. Especially, if you are not earning enough, they will be worried about your future. And the comparison will begin with other children which is damn irritating. So, it is better to start off with some traditional career field along with the work you want to pursue lifetime.
- Art of Negotiation: The best negotiators in the world are our mother’s. They are best at bargaining or negotiating with the vegetable vendors, salesman, etc. So, learning the art of negotiation from them will add a huge skill in business development. So, be observant while they are doing bargaining.
- Mostly, when you are not doing good in the thing you like so mostly such weird thoughts arises or filled your head: what am I doing with my life? It feels like that maybe everyone was right. Maybe this wasn’t meant to be. Maybe I should just get a job. Maybe one really can’t pursue something of their own in this country. These kinds of thoughts going to be in your mind for sure but you have to let it go and remember there will be a new day, new beginning.
- For starting a business what are the pillars that are described below: having a domain name & website, creating social media page, networking with people for scaling your business, marketing your products, having a good courier company for dispatching your products , good brand name, a place for office, hiring good people, availability of material, models for images and videos, good valuation of company, payment options, etc. These were the pillars that one should keep in mind while starting a business of own.
- When you got a profitable business, it is really important to have good investors, promoting your website without being shy, talk to your customers personally.
- At the end, there will be a sense of accomplishment and appreciation from others.
- Of course, destiny and timing are correlated to each other because if your ideas are strong then you can achieve whatever you wish for.

That was all for this journey. I have described most of the learnings and good points I liked about the book. Do let me know how do you like it in the comments. Also, whoever has read the book please feel free to add any points further. You can share your suggestions on my any social media handles or on my mail id.
