We all know that men and women are supposed to be different from each other. Their expressions were similar but they had different connotations or emotional emphasis. Recently, I read a book “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus” by John Gray. It is the book about improving communication in your relationship. It is a good book to know how your partner (he/she) thinks or their perspective towards your partner.
It is proven universally, women need validation, care, understanding, respect, devotion, reassurance and men need approval, trust, acceptance, appreciation, admiration, encouragement. The process of learning requires not only hearing and applying but also forgetting and then remembering again. It often happens that misunderstanding arises between partners by lack of hearing or listening calmly instead trying to prove their point. Talking to each other is the only solution of every misunderstanding.
By the metaphor of seasons, the author has described love very beautifully:
Sometimes, love flows easily and automatically; at other times it requires effort. Sometimes our hearts are full and at other times we are empty.
We must not expect our partners to always be loving. It is not easy not being loved by someone with whom you are attached so much rather we should understand that and not to expect to remember everything.
We are not innocent children leaving how to have successful relationships. We have been programmed by our parents since childhood, by the culture. Integrating this new wisdom of having loving relationships is a new challenge. You are a pioneer. You are traveling in a new territory. Expect to be lost sometimes. Expect your partner to be.
These were the best lines from the book from my point of view. Being in a relationship is not easy, your priority gets changed. You have to make time for that person. Communication is the key of relationships.
