Books are always the best companion for human being. We can learn from them and imbibe those leanings to improve our life. Currently, I finished reading the most popular book “The Almanack of Naval Ravi Kant” which is actually great book on wealth and happiness. As I always have some snippets from books I read. Here, I come with another browny points from the book. I hope all the points mentioned below are helpful and insightful.

Freedom – My priority in life is freedom. The major principles in my life are being independent and freedom to choose, make decisions, owning things I want. Freedom gives me the power to live in the world on my choices. The author explains it as “I value freedom above everything else”. All kinds of freedom: freedom to do what I want, freedom from things I don’t want to do, freedom from my own emotions or things that may disturb my peace. For me, freedom is the number one value.

Money – The most accurate and true points on money. The author defines money as “Money buys you freedom in the material world. It’s not going to make you happy, its not going to solve your health problems (Example: COVID-19), its not going to make your family great, its not going to make you fit, its not going to make you calm. But it will solve a lot of external problems. Its reasonable step to go ahead and make money. Eventually he wants to say that money help us in many ways but not by all means. Its better to earn money to fulfill our needs, desires and wants although abstract needs, wants and desires money can’t buy.

Anxiety – The major problem in today’s world. Everyone has gone through once through anxiety problem. The author describes it so perfectly “I think its important just being aware the anxiety is making you unhappy. The anxiety is just a series of running thoughts. How I combat anxiety: I don’t try and fight it, I just notice I’m anxious because of all these thoughts. I try to figure out, “Would I rather have my peace?’ Because as long as I have my thoughts, I can’t have my peace. You’ll notice when I say happiness I mean peace. When a lot of people say happiness, they mean joy or bliss, but I’ll take peace”. I was so amazed by the lines because eventually everyone wants peace in life . If you have all the privileges of the world, but still there will be always a void that is peace. So, its better to choose peace rather than millions of thoughts running through your mind.

Habits – Everyone has habits that are good and bad. The author explains it with a line “When we’re kids, we have very few habits. Over time, we learn the things we are not supposed to do. We become self- conscious. We start forming habits and routines”. He explains it so simply that over the time we experience new things, people, experiences accordingly we make new habits and routines.

Meditation – The most hyped topic in today’s world. Everyone is saying doing meditation will hep you to achieve this and that. But the author explains it in the best perspective “Meditation is turning off society and listening to yourself. Hiking is walking meditation, Journaling is writing meditation, Praying is gratitude meditation, Showering is accidental meditation and Sitting quietly is direct meditation”. It means that being in present is meditation.
